St. Joseph

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Pony Express. On April 3, 1860, a lone rider left on horseback from the gates of one of the nation’s most historic landmarks, the Pikes Peak Stables in St. Joseph, Missouri. Carrying saddlebags filled with our nation’s hopes and dreams, the riders traveled 2,000 miles to Sacramento, California. Check our Web site for a full schedule and locations.

The Show-Me State Games is an Olympic-style sports festival with more than 40 competitive sports for Missouri amateur athletes of all ages and abilities. This event is designed to inspire Missourians to develop their physical and competitive abilities and to foster an amateur athletic network of participants, volunteers and sports enthusiasts. Auditions for the Stupid Human Tricks and the Stupid Pet Tricks segments seen on The Late Show With David Letterman. Auditions are open to all ages; however, participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. You must arrive between the designated times; first come, first served. Auditions held outdoors, in front of the Branson Landing Fountains. Bring water for your pet. Pets must be under the control of the owner at all times. Have proof of all current vaccinations. Participants selected by The Late Show With David Letterman staff receive a free trip to New York; payment for their appearance on the show; and a chance to perform their trick on the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theater.
