Miller’s Landing Day: The Legend of John Colter is a free community event celebrating the founding of New Haven, Missouri as “Miller’s Landing” in 1836. It is a family friendly festival that begins at noon on Saturday, May 11, 2024 including a Children and Veterans’ Parade on the riverfront and ending that evening with a magnificent fireworks display over the Missouri River. Crafts, art sellers and other exhibitors will populate Historic Downtown New Haven along with local food and beverage providers. There will be live music and bands playing throughout the day. Children’s activities include barrel rides, The Monkey Bus, games and other contests. The Quilt Show will once again be held on Front Street. The Lewis and Clark Reenactors will be here to commemorate the Expedition’s passing by this site in 1804, as well as a John Colter reenactor. The forecast promises no rain on that Saturday and the whole town is looking forward to celebrating New Haven’s history and welcoming visitors from far and wide. Come join in the fun!
