The Gathering Place was built in 1999 out of spruce logs. It is nestled in the trees in the center of 80 acres. We are eight miles from the junction of two major highways, Route 54 and I-49, and within 90 miles of the Kansas City. We offer a log home with wooded privacy—a perfect retreat from the whirlwind of busy lives. We have two guest suites.
The Master Suite is on the ground floor with a queen-size bed and spacious adjoining bath. You can feel your cares slipping away as you step into the jetted tub for a relaxing soak and you can choose to take a shower. This suite has a separate, outside entrance leading to a shaded sitting area.
The Loft Suite is upstairs and overlooks the dining room and great room below. This suite also contains a private room with a queen size bed and attached bath. The Loft Suite has two additional queen size beds and one antique full size bed in the outer loft area and is perfect for those small retreat groups, girls’ weekend away, parties or small family reunions.
We believe privacy is important, so we take reservations on a whole house basis giving you total access to the kitchen, dining room and great room as well as sleeping rooms during your stay. You will also find our kitchen is furnished with everything you need to prepare your meals during your stay or enjoy the convenience of our local restaurants. A BBQ grill is located on the grounds. Park your vehicle. in our two car garage saving you from having to get out in the weather to unload. Come visit us, kick your shoes off and enjoy some time relaxing in the country!
Our $200 a day whole house rate covers the first four guests. Additional guests pay $25 per person for those older than 12 and $10 per person for younger than 12 per day. We can sleep 10.
We also have monthly rates for those staying in the area for an extended amount of time making your stay just like being at home. We look forward to welcoming you to our retreat center!
