The Missouri Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is an all-volunteer organization of aviation enthusiasts who are dedicated to preserving the military aviation heritage of World War ll. Our mission is to preserve, not only the military aircraft and artifacts of World War ll, but to honor the men and women who served our country.Operating from St. Charles Count Airport, Smartt Field, we are proud to have three authentic examples of World War ll combat aircraft:* A 1944 North American B-25J Mitchell Medium Bomber ( the type of plane used by Jimmy Doolittle in his famous raid over Tokyo).* A 1945 Grunman TBM-3 “Avenger” Torpedo Bomber* A 1941 U.S. Army Aeronca L-3B Observation Plane.Rides are available on all three airplanes.
