Come and experience this unique subterranean venue. Its fascinating infrastructure was created as a result of a sand mine operation which began in the 1870’s and was utilized to create glass up to the 1980s. If you take a short walk down to the picturesque Plattin Creek, you might even find a one-of-a-kind souvenir in the form of a beautiful aqua glass stone.
Currently ‘The Cave’ as it is informally known around the area is being utilized as a sports and boating venue. It boasts a spring-fed crystal-clear 150-acre underground lake. It even offers boat tours through this engrossing and foreign landscape. Boat tours during regular business hours need no reservation and go out at the top of the hour. The boat holds up to 30 people. A second tour, the hour-long pontoon boat ride is on a smaller boat which holds 10 people and is by reservation.
Stick around and play the ONLY underground disc golf course in the world! If you are a disc golf aficionado this is a must! There are 21 holes open for play. Our signature hole is called “The Rabbit Hole.” Baskets are lit up with colorful rope lights. Please feel free to bring your own discs, as we offer attachable LED lights. If you are just playing for fun, don’t worry, we have discs available for rent.
In addition we have five underground sand volleyball courts are available for play, so bring the whole team.
A couple of 3-4 mile challenge runs are held every year in February and July. The cool temperatures are perfect for playing sports.
Tour buses, field trips, corporate events are welcome every day of the week by appointment. The temperature is a comfortable 55-60 degrees year round. But remember to bring a sweatshirt and comfortable shoes for walking. Please, look up directions on our website as GPS can sometimes get confused about the location.
