“A Unique Historic House Museum in the heart of downtown St. Louis.” The Field House Museum opened in 1936 as the first historic house museum in St. Louis. Enjoy our free parking lot and take a guided tour of the historic house where you will learn about Eugene Field, the “Children’s Poet”, and his father, Roswell Field, an attorney on the Dred Scott case.

Our docents will entertain you with family stories as you immerse yourself in nineteenth century St. Louis. After your tour we invite you to enjoy our museum where we have rotating exhibit spaces, the Eugene Field Library and our museum gift shop.
