Hasselbring’s Harmony Ranch breeds and raises the elegant and rare Suri alpaca. Approximately 10 percent of alpacas in the United States are Suri alpacas, which have long fiber that grows downwards like dreadlocks. A Suri alpaca in full fleece is like walking art.
Alpacas are prized for their fiber, which is sheared annually, and used for luxury yarns and clothing that is incredibly soft, lightweight and warmer than wool.
Hasselbring’s Harmony Ranch is home to around 180 alpacas. Tours of the farm are conducted by appointment throughout the year. Alpaca products, including yarn, made from locally grown alpacas are available for purchase.
This is an excellent experience for people of all ages, including families with young children. Tour groups of up to 35 people are welcome. A pavilion is available for groups to gather; visitors are welcome to bring sack lunches.
Farm visits are provided by appointment only. Cost is $10 per person, under 2, no charge. please call ahead to schedule.
