Situated between the majestic bluffs of the Missouri River northeast of Jefferson City, the Ken Lanning Golf Center (KLGC) is a nine-hole, par 3 public golf course created for golfers and non-golfers of all ages, regardless of mobility.
The course is free for active military, veterans, anyone with special needs, and children younger than 15. The general public is welcome to play as well. Greens fees are $10; golf cart fees are not included. This course encompasses 17 acres, including a two-acre lake abundantly stocked with a variety of fish, courtesy of the Missouri Department of Conservation. Plans for the lake include building an all-access stationary dock.
Open since the spring of 2016, no detail has been overlooked on this one-of-a-kind course. The eight-feet-wide cart paths are built extra wide to accommodate motorized and non-motorized wheelchairs or carts, and possesses a maximum grade and cross slope of less than two percent to allow for easy navigation. Additionally, all greens have been constructed of premium turf material and, when the conditions are too wet for the other tees, an all-access tee box is available. KLGC has three principal tee locations. From the blue tees the course plays to approximately 930 yards, Ken Lanning tees about 765 yards; and the red tees about 670 yards.
KLGC is located adjacent to Turkey Creek Golf Course.
