This area, in a remote area of the Ozarks, provides hikers and backpackers access to the solitude of the Missouri’s largest undeveloped area; the 60,000-acre tract is within the state’s largest privately owned forest.
The backcountry contains nearly 30 miles of trails, including nearly 15 miles of Current River frontage. The Department of Natural Resources provides access to this area with 27 miles of trail, managed by Echo Bluff State Park.
