Silver Dollar City, an 1880s theme park in Branson, Missouri, has been internationally awarded for excellence in theme, presentation and operations, including the worldwide Applause Award for excellence, the THEA Award (Themed Entertainment Assoc.) for theming, and the Golden Ticket award as the “Friendliest Park” in the entire theme park industry.
Silver Dollar City began as a re-creation of the mining town that once stood at the mouth of Marvel Cave, which lies under the park and has been one of the state’s leading attractions for nearly six decades, now encompassing more than 100 acres and drawing about two million visitors each year with over 40 rides & attractions. It is the original property of Herschend Family Entertainment, the nation’s largest family-owned theme park corporation.
Ten festivals and events offer a variety of entertainment and activities throughout the year, from Street Fest in the spring to the illustrious An Old Time Christmas. The park’s 40-plus rides and attractions include the revolutionary coaster, Time Traveler, the ground-breaking wood coaster, Outlaw Run, the explosive launch roller coaster, PowderKeg, the multi-looping roller coaster, WildFire, and the high-flying Giant Swing, plus themed family ride areas such as Fireman’s Landing and The Grand Exposition.
