St. Robert Military Tribute & Freedom Rock

See Photo Location

The Saint Robert Military Tribute and Freedom Rock Display in Saint Robert, Missouri, is a poignant homage to the nation’s military personnel, particularly those associated with Fort Leonard Wood. Located at 210 St. Robert Blvd., this outdoor exhibit features a series of boulders and murals representing various military units and branches. A centerpiece of the display is the Freedom Rock, part of the “50 State Freedom Rock Tour,” which showcases unique artwork honoring veterans across the United States.

The Freedom Rock in Saint Robert was painted by artist Ray “Bubba” Sorensen II in 2017. This 12-foot by 10-foot mural depicts scenes honoring Medal of Honor recipient General Leonard Wood and the Rough Rider era, as well as a tribute to Fort Leonard Wood’s history. The reverse side features “The Spirit of Pulaski County,” a North American P-51 Mustang aircraft, and the top is adorned with a painted American flag.

The Saint Robert Military Tribute and Freedom Rock Display is open year-round and offers free admission. While the site is outdoors, pets are allowed on a leash.
