Located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, this lake offers a variety of activities. With more than 44,000 acres of land, guests may hunt, fish, swim, boat, camp or picnic. A visitor center features displays, and often hosts programs designed to showcase the natural beauty of Southeast Missouri.The lake is known for its largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, white bass and channel catfish. The surrounding area is home to many animals, including deer, turkey, dove and quail.The area includes equestrian and hiking trails, along with sites for camping.
